SITA Departure Control System (SDCS) is designed to satisfy the
need for improved airport passenger handling, optimized aircraft
payload utilization and to provide a potential revenue stream through
the servicing of handled carriers. The system provides automatic
seat assignments and boarding pass and bag tag printing. It performs
load planning and automatic weight and balance calculations for
all bodied aircraft. It automatically dispatches load control and
operational messages. The system also allows for Interline Through
Check-In with third party airlines using EDIFACT ITCI standards.
SDCS interfaces with
GABRIEL and with any other host reservation system that produces
an IATA format Passenger Name List (PNL) with manual backup ability
in case of loss of the reservations link.
